Short Introduction

The Senior Media Planner (Digital)  leads the creation of media strategies, ensuring they align with client goals and objectives. They manage key client relationships, and provide strategic insights.

This role drives campaign performance, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and growth. In addition, they mentor and guide Media Planners, ensuring successful execution and the achievement of KPIs.

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.) Campaign Briefing

  • Lead the campaign briefing process, ensuring media strategies align with the broader business and marketing goals.
  • Guide Media Planners in understanding client objectives, refining strategies, and ensuring the approach meets KPIs.
  • Take the lead in presenting media strategies and aligning with superiors to ensure that all campaign requirements are met at a higher level 

2.) Media Planning and Strategy

  • Oversee the development of media plans, ensuring they reflect both short- and long-term client goals, including larger strategic objectives.
  • Lead the evaluation of media channels and platforms, driving more complex or high-value decisions.
  • Take ownership of optimizing large media budgets, working to improve campaign efficiency 
  • Lead the presentation of media strategy, measurement, and reporting to clients, offering senior-level insights.

3.) Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Lead data analysis, driving actionable insights and ensuring they are applied effectively to improve overall campaign results.
  • Take responsibility for monitoring campaign performance and implementing timely optimizations that directly impact KPIs.
  • Present detailed campaign performance reports and optimization strategies to clients, and help guide Media Planners in reporting processes.
  • Set and oversee the campaign’s key metrics to ensure alignment with client objectives and drive success.

 

4.) Project Management & Relationship Building

  • Take a leadership role in managing complex, high-priority campaigns, ensuring seamless coordination between teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead client relationships and guide Media Planners in addressing client concerns, providing strategic direction and support throughout the campaign lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and according to client expectations, stepping in to handle escalated issues when necessary.

5.) Ad Technology Management

  • Take ownership of identifying and evaluating innovative media technologies and new executions that can differentiate clients and elevate campaign performance.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship in applying emerging trends, ensuring that the team stays ahead of the curve in the competitive media landscape.
  • Guide the team in best practices, campaign processes, and technical execution to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency across all campaigns.

  • Guides and leads Media Planners, providing strategic oversight and mentorship to ensure quality and success across campaigns.
  • Takes the lead in managing high-level client relationships, presenting complex strategies and performance insights, and aligning internal teams on goals.
  • Leads the development of media strategies, proactively identifying growth opportunities and areas for optimization.
  • Demonstrates superior organizational and project management skills, juggling multiple high-budget, high-stakes campaigns with a focus on delivering results.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • 3-5 years of experience in media planning, buying, or a related field, with a proven track record in managing high-level campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members (e.g., Media Planners).
  • Experience successfully leading pitches and securing new business.
  • Extensive experience with paid media tools like Google Ads, META Business Tools, TikTok Ads, etc.
  • At least two digital certifications related to media planning (e.g., Google Ads, Meta).
  • Proven success in planning and executing high-budget campaigns.Strong interest in the advertising/media industry, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing trends and technologies.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills for leading client meetings and internal presentations.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset, demonstrating initiative and leadership in campaign strategy and execution.
  • Strong internet connection with clear audio output for remote work.
